What is Ayurveda Detox?
It’s doubtful that it’ll ever heal. Rather, it may become infected. Before the importance of antiseptic wound washing in surgery was realized, most surgeries used to fail because of infections. This emphasizes the significance of the cleaning procedure in medical treatment.
A body full of metabolic toxins, according to Ayurveda, will be unable to absorb even medicine. The poisons or trash in the body
will nullify or reduce the effects of medicine even if it is absorbed. When the body is free of toxins and metabolic waste caused by diseases, it can heal itself, sometimes without the use of medication.
This is why when given the same treatment, children heal faster compared to older people. Because their system contains lesser toxins than the elders.

Types of Ayurveda Detox
gastrointestinal tract. Hence, there are five primary types of Ayurveda detox.
Ayurvedic Body Massage (Snehana)
Internal oilation and Massage are the first steps. It causes immobile tissue fluids to be transported back to the lymphatic system, where they can be cleansed and detoxified. Fresh tissue fluid circulates throughout the body, revitalizing the cells.

Ayurvedic Steam Treatment (Swedan)
The second phase is Swedan or steam therapy. It amplifies the benefits of massage by increasing blood circulation. The increased blood flow acts as an internal shower for the body’s cells. This step ensures deep cleansing of the entire body tissues.

Ayurvedic Emesis (Vaman)
Vaman is the therapeutic and controlled emesis. Most of the metabolic waste gets deposited into the tissue fluid and in the mucus. This contaminated mucus deposits itself in the upper alimentary canal for expulsion from the body. And the best way to expel this toxin-laced mucus is through vomiting. Ayurveda helps to induce controlled vomiting to expel these toxins effectively. This procedure helps to bring back the Kapha balance.
Ayurvedic Purgation (Virechan)
Virechan is the Therapeutic Purgation. Purgation is the process of removing waste from the lower digestive tract – the intestines. Ayurveda uses herbal purgatives to eliminate all toxins from the intestines and this process is said to be highly beneficial for vitiated pitta.
Oil enema (Anuvasan Basti)
In almost all chronic disorders, it is essential to control and pacify Vata, the most powerful of all metabolic patterns according to Ayurveda. Vasta dosha is dry, and there is no better substance than oil to counter this dosha. This is the reason why the oil enema or Taila Basti forms the basis of ‘Anti-Vata’ treatment. The oil enema helps to moisturize not only the entire intestines but also the nerve plexuses that converge at the umbilicus. As a result, it relieves nervous irritation, pain and stiffness in the abdominal region. It also serves to replenish the urinary tract after a strong detoxifying treatment of decoction enema.
Decoction enema (Niruha Basti)
The word Niruha means “without complications or confusion”. It refers to the universal applicability of Niruha Basti. Niruha Basti uses herbal decoctions to balance not only vata but all three doshas effectively. It is an excellent method to extract the toxins from the abdominal region and activate one of the most important channels of waste removal – the excretory system. Hence, it is also an effective trigger for blood purification.
Nasya (Nasal drops)
Head region is a delicate part of the body, laced with numerous nerves, blood vessels and sense organs. According to recent scientific studies, liposomal drug delivery is the most effective method in this part and this is where Nasya or the Ayurvedic Nasal Drops gain prominence. Nasya is one of the most effective ayurvedic procedure which uses medicated nasal drops for relief in multiple disorders in the head region, like sinusitis, migraine, chronic headache etc.
